In order to be able to continue to serve the disability community, Camp Acorn needs to build a permanent home. To accomplish this, the Board has begun a multi-million dollar fundraising effort, which will allow the Camp to purchase property and build a new home which will include indoor and outdoor recreational facilities, a swimming pool, arts and crafts rooms, and other adaptive environments to enrich the lives of the individuals the Camp serves.
New York star pitcher Joba Chamberlain is a member of Camp Acorn’s Honorary Board of Directors, and is hosting a kickoff dinner to begin the Camp’s capital fundraising effort and raise awareness about the Camp’s programs and the population it serves. The dinner will be held on Monday, November 16, 2009, and those who attend will have the opportunity to meet Joba and other athletes, learn more about Camp Acorn and the population it serves, and help those who, in many cases, simply cannot help themselves.
Seating at this very special event is limited, so buy your tickets today and enjoy an evening getting to know Joba Chamberlain and Camp Acorn! |
